O'Donnell's  is a family owned and operated outfitting venture on the Miramichi River in central New Brunswick, Canada. Beginning in 1991 with one cottage and 17 acres of riverfront property, Valerie O'Donnell and her husband Jackie began to build towards what is now called O'Donnell's Cottages & Expeditions.

By 1995 two more cottages had been added, as well as several Old Town canoes, kayaks, tubes and bicycles to address the growing demands for eco-adventures. The 1999 purchase of Clearwater Hollow Expeditions - one of the largest providers of eco-tourism on the Miramichi - solidified O'Donnell's as a first class adventure provider. In 2000, a fourth cottage was added, this time a 3-bedroom.

In 2004 we added a new service building which has become the new home of our main office.  It also houses public laundry facilities, a payphone, a pop machine, a kitchen and a dining/meeting room for special events and business conferences.

Since 2002 we have been offering corporate packages. Many departments and business owners are discovering just how conductive O'Donnell's is with clear thinking and fresh ideas. Combining meetings and deadlines with a chance to get outside for some physical activity and team building, rejuvenating not only the body but the mind as well.

We are the perfect home base for snowmobiling in central New Brunswick. From here you can access most of the province on groomed trails. We now make the sport of snowmobiling accessible to you with our affordable rental service, trail maps and general information about the trails. Also in winter we offer snowshoe rentals and packages along with cross country skiing.

"2006 TOURISM ATLANTIC TECHNOLOGY AWARD"

The second-annual Tourism Atlantic Technology Award was presented Oct 28th, 2006 in Edmundston, N.B. to Valerie O’Donnell, owner/operator of O’Donnell’s Cottages and Expeditions for her commitment to technology with the purpose of improving her business and promoting the region as a world-class destination. The award was presented at the annual conference of the Tourism Industry Association of New Brunswick . “The Tourism Atlantic Technology Award acknowledges and celebrates tourism operators who have successfully integrated technology into their business practices with a purpose of enhancing the travel experiences of visitors to Atlantic Canada,” said the Honourable Peter MacKay, Minister of Foreign Affairs and ACOA. Established in 2004 by the Tourism Atlantic branch of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), this award recognizes one operator in each Atlantic province for their innovation, creativity and leadership in using technology to improve and complement their tourism operation.

The New Brunswick Department on Tourism and Parks announced the winners of its 2006 Tourism Excellence and Innovation Awards on June 7th. O'Donnell's Cottages & Expeditions won the Excellence and Innovation Award in Tourism marketing which was presented to Valerie O'Donnell by Tourism and Parks Minister of New Brunswick. This award is in achievement of the businesses, operators and organizations that capitalize on New Brunswick's natural wonders, rich heritage and culture diversity to create outstanding tourism experiences. Through O'Donnell's commitment to professional development, partnership development, and through a highly effective marketing strategy, we have achieved our goal of creating a year-round, internationally recognized destination that provides nature adventure, first-class accommodations and personalized, top-quality service.
