Frequently Asked Questions
Cottage Questions
Q. Can I smoke in my cottage or suite?
A. The cottages and suites are all non-smoking units. For your convenience we have provided ashtrays outside on the verandah of your cottage or suite. O'Donnell's Cottages reserves the right to charge the credit card of any guest who has allowed smoking inside any of the units, up to an amount of $100.
Q. What is your cancelation policy?
A. As we are a small operation, cancellations are detrimental to our survival. Because of this we have implemented the following cancellation policies. These are guidelines which help to set the standard that we, at O’Donnell’s, are accustomed to providing our valued guests. Our reservations and cancellation policy is as follows:
Reservations
- At the time of reservation we will ask you for your name, address, contact information and a credit card number. These are required in order to confirm your reservation and to enable us to forward you a confirmation receipt.
- A deposit of 25% of your total reservation will be charged to your credit card at this point. Please note that a reservation is not considered by O'Donnell's Cottages to be confirmed (and therefore the unit is able to be booked by another party)until a deposit is paid.
- The full balance of your reservation is due upon check-in.
- Please note that there are no refunds for early departure.
Cancellations
- Cancellations made 45 days prior to the date of arrival - a full refund of the deposit will be made, less 20% service charge.
- Cancellation made 30 days prior to arrival - refund of deposit less 50% service charge.
- Cancellation within 14 days of arrival - No refund of the deposit will be made.
Q. Can anyone use the hot tub?
A. If you purchased a package, for example a romantic getaway, or the overnight snowmobiling getaway, the use of the hot tub is included in your package. However, you still do need to book the time you will be using the tub to ensure you have it to yourself.
If you are an overnight guest (not part of a package which includes the hot tub use) and wish to use the hot tub, you may book a time to use it. The rate for hot tub use is an additional $5/person/hr.
Q. Is access to the hot tub limited?
A. For the safety and consideration of our guests, the hot tub is locked when it is not in use. Should you wish to book the hot tub, please see the office and we will be happy to reserve you a time to use it. You may book the tub in 1 hour intervals. The hot tub will be closed at 11 pm each evening. The hot tub is also closed during the summer season.
