For years the Miramichi River in Canada has been THE place to fish for the king of sport fish, the Atlantic salmon. There have been many celebrities who have graced our waters, including the late, great Ted Williams and former President George H. W. Bush.

Fly fishing for Atlantic salmon in Canada begins April 15th for the spring fish and with it brings cool days and plenty of action. The bright salmon return to the river in early June and the season continues until October 15th. Trout fishing season is open from May 1st to Sept 15th and can be enjoyed in the Miramichi and Cains rivers as well as the many brooks and streams in the area.

Traveling from outside N.B.:
If you are not a resident of the province of New Brunswick and you want to fish salmon you will need a guide and a non resident license. The pricing of licenses varies, depending on how many days you wish to fish. Please click on the link below for further information or contact us.

1/2 Day Fly Fishing Vacation
Atlantic Salmon

  • 4 hrs fishing with professional guide

    1 day adventure fishing license – catch and

Multi-Day Fly Fishing Vacation

  • 4 nights accommodation
    3 days of fishing
    a licensed fishing guide
    3 meals per day

Cost: $925.00/person –
based on double occupancy

Extra days: $275.00 / person

Non Resident License Fees are:

  • $50.60 for 3 days
  • $94.30 for 7 days
  • $161.00 for a seasonal license
  • Guides are mandatory if you are from out of province
  • Season runs April 15th – Oct 15th

Full Day Fly Fishing Vacation

  • 8 hrs fishing with licensed guide
    fly fishing instructions
    use of fishing equipment
    1 day adventure fishing license – catch and release only

Cost: $199.00/person – $249.00/couple

Excluding fishing equipment and refreshments:
Cost: $155.00/person – $180.00/couple 

Trout Fishing

All fee prices are for 2006 and are subject to change.

Non Resident License Fees are:

  • $28.75 for 3 days
  • $40.25 for 7 days
  • $63.25 for the season
  • Non residents require a guide if fishing trout in the river, but NOT in brooks and streams
  • May – June is a good time for sea-run trout
  • Season runs May 1st – Sept 15th

General Information

  • Waders, rods and reels can be rented separately.

  • Non resident fishing license are sold on site to our guest.
