Wondering where to take a family vacation in winter? Our winter vacation packages are great for couples only or the whole family. Try an adventurous snowmobiling vacation or a more relaxing cross-country skiing vacation. In New Brunswick, Canada, when winter arrives, so does the fun! When the temperature drops below 0, all that means is that you get to kick it up a notch. Don’t miss your chance to snowmobile, sled, cross-country ski, or snowshoe.

Snowmobiling

Centrally located in New Brunswick, O’Donnell’s Cottages & Expeditions in Doaktown is a great place to begin or end your snowmobile excursion. It is also the most southerly gateway to the Northern Odyssey, with direct access from your cottage door to trails # 42 & 58.  Check out our exact location on the New Brunswick Snowmobile Trail Map and the Northern  Odyssey booklet. Close to 1000 kilometers (625 miles) of trails that will take you from Doaktown to Miramichi, Bathurst, Campbellton,  Edmundston and every snowy point in between. It all makes for an unforgettable snowmobile experience.

On the Miramichi, snowmobiling is not “just something you do,” it’s a way of life! We have three (3) machines that we rent out to our overnight guests and we always enjoy accommodating passersby. We also offer guided tours for those unfamiliar with snowmobiling or the area.

Keep in mind that we have more than ample parking for your trailers and vehicles and, if  needed, a loading ramp as well. Overnight accommodations are provided in our fully equipped winterized cottages complete with a fireplace and fleece sheets to keep you toasty warm. See cottages for rates. With advance notice we can also provide you with an evening meal and breakfast in our dinning room.

All 3 of our snowmobiles are Polaris Indy 550 Sport Touring, 2-up seat.

Requirements:

– credit card is required for all rentals ($1500 security deposit / damage fee)
– $50 charge for late returns unless prior arrangements have been made
– rental agreement must be signed
– waiver form must be signed
– must have full tank of gas when returned
– $0.45/mile over allowed mileage

After a great day on the trails, kick back in a snug Miramichi cottage, complete with a roaring fire and a great atmosphere. Centrally located in New Brunswick, near some of the best snowmobile trails.

Snowmobile Trail PassesDon’t forget that you can buy your daily and weekly trail passes here and support our local Miramichi Sno-Goers Club. Be sure to indicate Club number “22” when you purchase your pass! Prices are $30 for a day pass, $50 for a 3-day pass $75 for a 7-day pass, (plus HST). You can check out trail conditions and get additional information by going to the New Brunswick Federation of Snowmobile Clubs website at www.nbfsc.com. Snowshoeingis a great adventure to partake in when you’re visiting O’Donnell’s on the Miramichi. Take a pair of our shoes and go for a hike through the trails, watch for wildlife tracks and see how many you can identify. Stop, boil the kettle and eat your packed picnic lunch under an old pine tree. Snowshoes can be rented for $15 per day /per pair.

Tobogganing & Snow Tubing can be done on a small hill in front of the cottages or on a larger hill a short drive away.

Cross-Country Skiingcan be done on groomed trails only a 30 minute drive away, or, you can ski the un-groomed, back-country trails near our cottages. Enjoy the scenery and the great outdoor fresh air.

Relaxationis what others want. If you prefer not to go outdoors you can still have fun here in the winter. All of our cottages come equipped with gas or wood fireplaces, as well as fleece blankets on most of the beds, so you’ll always be nice and cozy  while you’re at O’Donnell’s!
